BEAUTIFUL SKIN MARRIED TO EFA'S

Having the proper ratio of omega-3 alphalinolenic acid and omega-6 linoleic acid helps the body to produce and maintain healthy, radiant skin. Although a number of factors play important roles in facilitating velvety skin, EFA's (essential fatty acids) are the most neglected. EFA's are often damaged by processing in their manufacture and in food preparation. As well, the ratio between omega-3 and omega-6 in many diets is not balanced and the intake of omega-3 is much too low in most individuals.

The result of this EFA imbalance in the skin is dryness, dandruff, eczema and psoriasis-like inflammatory skin conditions, acne, cracked heels, toxic deposits in the skin, skin damage, and increased risk of sunburn and skin cancer.

A survey of consumers carried out in 2004 showed that 78% of the respondents reported improvements in their skin condition when they began to take the all-inclusive blend of oils called Udo’s Choice Oil Blend, an oil made with health in mind. EATING FAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU FAT

In eating food, it is the type of fat that is consumed that is important and the percentage of total caloric uptake. What is the correct ratio to burn fat? Essential fatty acids (EFAs), in a ratio of two (omega 3) to one (omega 6) and at levels of about 12% to 15% of total caloric intake, increase the rate of metabolic reaction in the body. This higher rate burns more fat into carbon dioxide, water and energy (heat) which results in fat burn-off and a loss of weight.

Because EFAs cause an increase in calorie burning they should not count as fat calories. When these acids are consumed as pure, unadulterated fats and oils they increase our stamina and energy levels. Athletes using EFAs have also found that in addition to this they have more endurance, can lift heavier weights, exercise more and recover from fatigue quicker.

Essential fatty acids also help the kidneys to remove excess water from tissues and eliminate water retention. Food cravings are also reduced. EFAs play a role in cell membranes and are also required in hemoglobin production. A deficiency of EFA's causes a form of anemia which can leave you fatigued. Adding essential fatty acids to your diet is extremely beneficial and will give you more energy and the incentive to exercise more easily.
